8 Days Wildlife Safari Experience in Kenya

Day 1: Arrival at Jommo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) – Nairobi

Upon arrival at Jommo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO), you will be warmly welcomed by our company staff.  After a briefing about the safari, you will be introduced to your driver-guide. You will then be transferred to the hotel/ Lodge in Nairobi for check-in, then have the diner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve

After early breakfast, you will meet your Safari Guide and proceed to Samburu National Reserve where you will arrive in time for a game drive along with your Picnic Lunch. Samburu National Reserve, located in northern Kenya along the banks of the Ewaso Ng’iro River, spans approximately 165 square kilometers and is known for its unique and diverse wildlife. The reserve is home to the “Samburu Special Five” – Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and beisa oryx – species that are rarely found in other parts of Kenya. The arid landscape, characterized by acacia trees, riverine forests, and grasslands, provides a striking backdrop for wildlife viewing. Additionally, the reserve offers cultural experiences with the semi-nomadic Samburu people, who share similarities with the Maasai in traditions and lifestyle. Samburu National Reserve is a distinctive and enriching destination for safari enthusiasts and cultural explorers alike. After the trip, drive to your Lodge/ Camp for evening leisure, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Full day at Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, proceed with a full day game drive or leisure at Samburu National Reserve with your Picnic Lunch. After the trip, drive back to your Lodge/ Camp for evening leisure, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4: Samburu National Reserve – Ol Pajeta Conservancy

After breakfast, meet your Safari Guide and drive to Ol Pajeta Conservancy with your Picnic Lunch. Ol Pejeta Conservancy, located in central Kenya near the town of Nanyuki, spans 360 square kilometers and is a leading model for wildlife conservation and community development. The conservancy is renowned for its successful efforts in protecting endangered species, notably housing the largest population of black rhinos in East Africa and being the home to the world’s last two northern white rhinos. Additionally, Ol Pejeta is a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees at the Sweet-waters Chimpanzee Sanctuary. The conservancy offers diverse wildlife viewing opportunities, including sightings of the Big Five – lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino. Visitors can also engage with local communities and learn about sustainable farming and conservation practices, making Ol Pejeta a prime destination for eco-tourism and wildlife enthusiasts. After the trip, drive to your Lodge/ Camp for evening leisure, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Ol Pajeta Conservancy – Lake Naivasha

Check out after breakfast and a short game drive as you head to the conservancy exit and transfer to Lake Naivasha with your Picnic Lunch. Lake Naivasha, located in the Great Rift Valley of Kenya, is a freshwater lake covering approximately 139 square kilometers. This beautiful and serene lake is surrounded by acacia woodlands and flower farms, providing a rich habitat for a diverse array of wildlife. It is renowned for its abundant birdlife, with over 400 species recorded, including fish eagles, herons, and pelicans. The lake is also home to a sizeable population of hippos. Visitors can enjoy boat rides, which offer close-up views of the hippos and birdlife, as well as guided walks on Crescent Island, a sanctuary where you can walk among giraffes, zebras, and other herbivores. The area around Lake Naivasha also boasts attractions such as Hell’s Gate National Park and the geothermal spa at Olkaria, making it a diverse and captivating destination for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Day 6: Lake Naivasha – Maasai Mara National Reserve

After early morning breakfast and transfer to Masai Mara. Arrival in Masai Mara early afternoon. Proceed to the camp for check-in and lunch. Later venture out for game drives, exploring what the park has in store for you. The Maasai Mara National Reserve, located in southwestern Kenya, is one of Africa’s most famous and important wildlife conservation areas. Spanning approximately 1,510 square kilometers, it is renowned for its exceptional populations of lions, leopards, cheetahs, and the annual Great Migration, where over a million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles traverse the plains in search of greener pastures. The reserve is named after the indigenous Maasai people who live in the area and the Mara River that runs through it. With its vast savannah landscapes, rich biodiversity, and opportunities to visit Maasai villages, the Maasai Mara offers an unparalleled safari experience and insights into the local culture. After the trip, drive back to your camp for evening leisure, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Full day in Maasai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast at your Camp/ Lodge, spend a day exploring the vast reserve. With your experienced safari guide by your side, immerse yourself in the captivating wildlife encounters that await. Witness the majestic herds of elephants, graceful giraffes, and mighty lions in their natural habitat. Traverse the diverse landscapes, from open plains to dense thickets, and witness the remarkable biodiversity of the park. With each turn, expect surprises and unforgettable moments as you unravel the mysteries of the African wilderness. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Jommo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO)

Check-out after breakfast with your Picnic Lunch and a brief game drive as you exit the park. Transfer to Jommo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO) for your onwards Flight back home or to the next destination.
